Help us find a “forever” home!

Charlford’s mission is to provide our clients with a safe, healthy and caring place for their recovery and where we do our work is crucial.  Our longstanding success is due in large part to our non-institutional, home-like atmosphere and quiet neighbourhood location. 

Charlford House Society has been operating out of rented premises for the past almost 40 years.  It’s time for us to have a home of our own, and to help us do that, we created a separate charitable organization, the Charlford House Foundation. 

By donating to the Foundation, you will be helping us achieve our goal of purchasing a suitable home – one that we can own and renovate as necessary to truly make it our own, and best serve our clients’ needs.    We have launched a capital campaign to raise the $1,000,000.00 we have determined we need for a suitable down payment and affordable mortgage rate.

WAYS TO GIVE

Rooms to Grow:  Our new home will be a place where women will learn to grow in recovery.  A one-time donation of $10,000.00 or more will allow us to name a room after the donor, and make them a living part of the House.   

Gratitude Wall:  For a donation of $5,000.00 or more, donors’ names will be highlighted on the entrance wall, permanently acknowledging their part of making our dream a reality. 

Sponsors of Hope:  A donation of $2,000 puts the donor in the category of individual sponsor.  These donors will receive special progress and event updates. 

Charlford Family:  A donation of $1,000 makes you part of our extended family.

Circle of Friends:  For a donation of $500.00, donors will become part of our friendship circle. 

In Memoriam:
Honor their Memory.  A donation to the Charlford House  Foundation in memory of a family member, friend or loved one is a meaningful way to express your sympathy.  When you make a Memorial Donation to the Charlford House Foundation, you may choose to send a letter of notification to the family or next of kin.

In Honor:
Honor the Commitment.  Gifts in recognition can be made to an individual who has worked hard in their recovery, or to an individual who supported you through your recovery.  A letter of notification  and/or thanks can be sent to the individual honored.

Leave A Legacy:
A gift in your will can be made by including one sentence in your will.  Gifts of legacy will not affect your current income and may ease the burden of probate fees on your estate and can provide a tax benefit to your loved ones or next of kin.  The Charlford House  Foundation can provide a letter with suggested language reflecting your wishes for inclusion in your will.  You can then take the letter to your legal advisor for consideration.

Gifts Of Stock:
You can donate appreciated publicly listed stocks, bond, or mutual funds directly to the Charlford House  rather then selling them to donate the proceeds, without paying capital gains.  As a result, you will receive a tax receipt in the full market value to offset the income from other sources.

Matching Gifts:
Many international companies will match employee donations to recognized charities.  Ask your employer if they have a matching gift program and double the contribution amount.

Monthly Giving:
Every little bit counts.  A monthly gift provides a continuous source of funds to support the mission of Charlford House Foundation.  Monthly donations can be made simple through pre-authorized chequing or pre-authorized credit card debit
